Platform Nature
AustinEco is a dental digital data transmission and B2B order matching platform. This page defines what we are, what we are not, and how responsibility is allocated between the parties using our service.
1. What AustinEco Does
- Transmits digital files (STL, PLY, OBJ, CBCT DICOM, PDF spec sheets) between dental clinics and independent designers/manufacturers.
- Runs automated geometric quality checks on uploaded files (mesh integrity, DICOM series completeness). We do not analyse clinical content.
- Matches orders between clinics and independent professionals through open pools, manual selection, and auto-assignment.
- Holds funds in escrow via Stripe Connect / Airwallex, and releases them to designers and manufacturers after the ordering clinic confirms receipt.
- Provides dispute mediation based on geometric evidence and order specifications.
2. What AustinEco Does Not Do
- We do not provide medical device functionality.
- We do not evaluate the clinical suitability of any design.
- We do not guarantee the design quality or outcome of any order.
- We do not guarantee the manufacturing quality or durability of any product.
- We do not render clinical opinions on any patient condition.
- We do not operate manufacturing equipment.
3. Allocation of Responsibility
Clinics remain solely responsible for the clinical appropriateness of every order they place and every deliverable they use. A licensed dental practitioner must review and accept the deliverable before any patient use.
Designers and manufacturers are independent professionals. They are responsible for the geometric validity of the files they deliver and the physical products they ship, according to the order specification.
AustinEco is responsible for transmitting files accurately, running automated geometric QC, holding escrow funds, and providing a fair dispute process — nothing more, nothing less.
4. Regulatory Posture
AustinEco is not registered as a medical device with FDA, CE, NMPA or any other regulator. This is intentional: we do not meet the definition of a medical device because we do not provide clinical decisions, diagnostic output, or treatment planning. We are a data transmission and matching infrastructure, analogous to a courier service for digital files.
5. Future Certified Functionality
We may, in the future, offer separately-licensed certified modules (e.g. treatment planning tools). Such modules will be clearly labelled, sold under a different agreement, and will only be available to eligible licensed practitioners in jurisdictions where they are approved.
